Can Amara call for help in an emergency?

Can Amara call for help in an emergency?

No. Amara is not an emergency service and not a home emergency call service (Hausnotruf). In an emergency, always call 112, the emergency number in Germany.

What Amara does when someone needs help

  • If Amara picks up signs of an emergency in a conversation, Amara suggests calling 112. But you can't rely on that.
  • The family doesn't get a notification when this happens.
  • Calls through Amara aren't meant for emergencies either. The call screen says so too.

Calling family

Your parents or grandparents can call a family member by voice at any time. That's handy, but it doesn't replace an emergency call.

Home emergency call service

If your parents or grandparents have a home emergency call service (Hausnotruf), keep it. Amara doesn't replace it.

Still stuck? Message us in the chat in the Amara Family App, or email support@amara.app.
