How Amara came to be

Amara began with a question we couldn't stop thinking about. Why, in a world that's more connected than ever, are so many older adults spending their days alone?

We saw it in our own families. Children had moved away. Friends became fewer. Technology promised connection, but often made it harder instead.

The problem wasn't a lack of love. It was a lack of everyday conversation.

That's why we built Amara. Not another app to learn. Not another screen to navigate. A voice that feels natural. One that listens, remembers, and is there whenever someone feels like talking.

Because growing older shouldn't mean growing quieter.

Amara was built to make growing older feel a little less lonely and a little more connected.

We created a voice-first companion that helps with everyday life through conversation, gentle reminders, and moments of curiosity and joy. Every part of the experience was designed alongside older adults to feel simple, familiar, and reassuring. No complicated menus. No surprises. Just a conversation that feels natural.

Today, Amara is part of daily life for families across the world. Every conversation, every remembered appointment, every shared laugh reminds us why we started, and why we're only just getting started.

How Amara changes everyday life.

I set Amara up for my mother. Since then she seems noticeably happier and feels less alone. For me it is reassuring to know that someone is always there for her.
