Internet or connection problems

Internet or connection problems

Amara needs an internet connection to talk with you. Most of the time, moving closer to your wi-fi box — the router — sorts it. If it's still playing up, go through these in order.

  1. Check your phone is connected to wi-fi. If you're out and about, away from home, switch on mobile data instead.
  2. Open another app for a moment — the web, or the weather — to see whether the connection is working at all. If those don't work either, it's your connection, not Amara.
  3. Turn aeroplane mode on, wait a few seconds, then turn it off again. This makes the phone reconnect, and often clears a stuck connection.
  4. Switch your phone off, then on again.

Good to know

The exact wording can vary a little depending on your phone. Look for Wi-Fi, Mobile data and Aeroplane mode.

If your wi-fi is down across the whole house, it's worth checking with whoever looks after your broadband — Amara will be back to normal as soon as the connection is.
