Amara isn't responding or can't hear me
Amara isn't responding or can't hear me
Most of the time this is one of a few simple things — the Talk button wasn't tapped, the volume's turned down, or Amara doesn't have permission to use the microphone. Try these in order.
- Tap the green Talk button, then speak. Amara listens when you tap Talk — if you speak before tapping, it won't hear you.
- Turn the volume up using the buttons on the side of your phone or tablet, and check it isn't on silent.
- Say something and wait a moment for Mia or Max to reply. They take a short moment to listen and answer — that pause is normal.
- Check the microphone is switched on for Amara. If it isn't, there's a short guide in "How to let Amara use the microphone".
- Speak a little louder, and clearly — a quiet room helps.
- Check you're connected to the internet. There's more in "Internet or connection problems".
- Close Amara and open it again. This clears most small glitches.
