How do I get Mia or Max to speak more slowly?

If Mia and Max talk a little too fast for you, you can slow them down — either by asking them, or in the settings. You can change it as often as you like.

Just ask, while you're talking

The quickest way: tap the green Talk button and say "Please speak more slowly." Mia or Max will slow down straight away. You can ask them to speed up again the same way.

In the settings

1. Open Amara's settings.
2. Find the speaking-speed setting.
3. Set it slower, then listen to check the pace feels comfortable.

Good to know

If something went by too fast, you don't have to change anything — just say "Could you say that again, please?" and Mia or Max will repeat it.
