How do I connect the tablet to Wi-Fi?
With the internet option, the tablet goes online through the built-in SIM card. Without it, the tablet needs Wi-Fi. If you'd like to use Wi-Fi, you'll need the network name and the password. Both are usually on a sticker on the router.
How to do it
On the tablet:
- Tap the gear at the top right.
- Tap “Device setup”, then “Internet” and “Change”.
- Choose your parents' or grandparents' Wi-Fi from the list.
- Enter the password. Watch out for capital and small letters.
- Confirm. After a few seconds, the tablet is connected.
The Wi-Fi doesn't show up?
- Move the tablet closer to the router.
- Restart the router: unplug it, wait 30 seconds, plug it back in.
The password doesn't work?
Check each character one by one. The number 0 and the letter O often look alike.
Good to know
The tablet works with Wi-Fi on both the 2.4 GHz and the 5 GHz band.
Wi-Fi networks with a sign-in page, like in hotels or hospitals, work too. The tablet shows “Log in to the Wi-Fi” for this.
